Global culture,
African flavor.
We cover the songs, screens, stages, clothes and business moves people are actually talking about, from a Nairobi matatu to a Billboard chart. And we tell those stories from where we stand.
The world is listening to Africa. We want the story told by people who were in the room first.
African culture is setting the pace now. Afrobeats fills stadiums in London, amapiano plays in clubs from Johannesburg to Brooklyn, and a Kenyan song can go from a TikTok sound to a Grammy conversation in a single season. Too often, though, that story gets told from somewhere else, by people who showed up late.
Flavor Africa is the view from here. We're based in Nairobi, we report on Kenya, the continent and the wider world, and we read all of it through an African lens. That means explaining why a mugithi room holds on to every word, tracing the chant on Thriller back to Douala, and treating an artist's business deals as seriously as their hits.
We run like a magazine, not a gossip page. Real reporting, full stories instead of captions, and every fact checked against at least two sources before it goes up.
